to achieve Monterey County education goals.

Over the next 10 years, it is estimated that nearly a third of
California’s teacher workforce is expected to retire. Monterey
County must have systems and conditions in place to attract and
retain the most highly qualified teachers.

Monterey Count schools have seen marked improvement over the last 6 years, even

must be done. Achievement gaps must be closed. Students must be
prepared with the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to succeed
in the global economy of the 21st century.
